On Saturday 19 February 2011, Raglan will host the 21st National HOG (Harley Owners Group) Rally. Over 1000 HOG riders (which equates to approximately 600 motorcycles) are expected to take part in the Harley convention which is attracting both national and international riders. Bookings are already coming in thick and fast for accommodation in Raglan.
The rally will be based at the soccer grounds of the Kopua Reserve. A feature of the rally is the the THUNDER RIDE on Saturday morning with all HOGs taking part. The rally started in 1990 at Mackays Crossing, Wellington. Although its been to Hamilton three times, 2011 is the first time for Raglan. Apart from Akaroa, Raglan is the smallest town it has been held in. Riders will begin arriving on Friday 18th and will depart on Sunday 20th.

Hi guys,
To answer your questions
Yes there will be shuttle buses running around Raglan on Friday and Saturday nights.
Thank you Rodger for the heads up.
A great accommodation option is to book a powered site at the campground and have a caravan or camper van delivered by Ohaupo Caravans.
If you have a look at the Rally website this info is on there

Tonight at the Raglan Club quiz night, I asked Dave Brown whether he could run a shuttle bus while the Harley Rally is on. Dave says he is prepared to look at this – depending on numbers and what people would be prepared to pay. So Harley Rally if you want a shuttle it could be provided- its over to you. Regards, Rodger
The question about shuttle buses is really one for the event organisers. Raglan Taxis has a bus that could be used for this purpose- they provide this type of service on New Year’s eve. I’ll ask Dave Brown when I see him next. Raglan Scenic Tours would no doubt provide a shuttle service on request. Yes, they have confirmed that they could offer some service.
The best place to coordinate accommodation needs is the Raglan Information Centre. Anthea, Rangi, Noeline or the volunteers will be happy to help you. Phone 07 825 0556, Email raglaninfo@xtra.co.nz
Anthea from the Raglan Information Centre says,
“We are getting steady enquiries, I’m sure it will be fine.
Cheers
Anthea.”
