in Information, Town and Around

The throaty sound of classic cars will be heard approaching Raglan on February 14th.   That’s right, the Raglan Classic Car and Rock n Roll Festival is on again. The main event in Bow St Raglan will run from 9am to 3pm.  The event gets under way with a breakfast session for entrants.  And during the day a variety of stalls will operate in Bow St.  Event liaison person Linda Cole says that Raglan can only accommodate two hundred cars in Bow Street so registrations are limited.  And as this is the third year the event has been held, and interest is strong, she suggests registering early to avoid disappointment.  Registration is $25 per vehicle.  Linda says that it will not be possible to register on the day.

The bands Al Dawson & The Wildkatz and The Famous Fish will be playing throughout the day.  And for the kids there will be free face painting.  For early arrivals on Saturday the13th, there will be a drive-in movie session starting at 9pm at the soccer ground, Kopua Domain.  Movies screening are Night at the Museum 2 and Battle of the Smithsonian!

The Classic Car and Rock n Roll Festival is being held to raise funds for the Raglan Plunket and Trust Waikato Raglan Surf Life Saving.
