Wellington Ukulele Orchestra goes surfing

Wellington Ukulele Orchestra at Raglan Town Hall

After a sellout of seats early last week on the Internet, Council staff scoured Raglan to provide more seats for last night’s  Wellington Ukulele Orchestra in the Raglan Town Hall.   The additional seats soon sold at the door and 30 minutes before the opening time there were no more tickets left.   Raglan residents arriving on Raglan time some time after the concert had begun found that it was sold out.   The audience was international with guests from Ireland, Canada and Santa Cruz.

The Orchestra provided the right mix of music, vocals and humour that ensured the audience gave them an enthusiastic reception.   A good banter was carried on between band members and the audience setting a friendly stage for the great music and entertainment.  Numbers included Blue Smoke, Africa, and Ruby.  And at one stage the band even went surfing!
