Seafood chowder at the Harbour View Hotel is one of my favourites. Good to hear that you liked the Harbour View. Its great on the Verandah Bar on a summer's day and in winter, the restuarant is warm and snug with a great heritage ambience.

I had dinner last Saturday at the hotel with my friend, who asked for a seafood chowder as a main, and said it was the best she had ever had: seafood by the shell and big pieces and smaller pieces as well. She didn't think she would be able to finish it, but it was too good. I had the cajun chicken salad, not quite as riveting. For the price it could have had more chicken, but was nevertheless tasty with a good variety of salad makings, and a satisfying meal. I would be happy to eat there again.
